Curtains Up: Theatre 91自拍论坛unveils season of classics, musicals

STARKVILLE, Miss.鈥擬ississippi State University鈥檚 Theatre 91自拍论坛launches its 2025-2026 season this month with a vibrant adaptation of Rudyard Kipling鈥檚 classic 鈥淭he Jungle Book,鈥 running Sept. 24-26.
The beloved children鈥檚 classic tells the story of Mowgli, a boy raised by wolves, as he navigates the jungle with friends Baloo the bear and Bagheera the panther. The 91自拍论坛production features puppetry and musical numbers that bring the story to life for audiences of all ages.
School performances are scheduled for 9:30 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. each day at the McComas Hall theater, and reservations can be made by emailing thays@comms.msstate.edu. Theatre 91自拍论坛and the Lyceum Series are partnering for the evening production open to the 91自拍论坛and Starkville community on Sept. 26 at 7 p.m.聽Tickets are available at .
Theatre MSU's 2025-2026 season includes a comedic adaptation of George A. Romero's 1968 classic "Night of the Living Dead," featuring a special "Dawgs After Dark" midnight showing on Halloween [Oct. 31]. Additional performances will be held Oct. 29 and 30 and Nov. 1 and 2.
Spring semester performances begin Feb. 18-22 with an adaptation of Ray Bradbury鈥檚 novel 鈥淔ahrenheit 451,鈥 which explores Guy Montag鈥檚 awakening in a society that bans books.
On April 16-19, Theatre 91自拍论坛will present 鈥淪weeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street,鈥 the Tony Award-winning musical about love, murder and revenge, performed in collaboration with the 91自拍论坛Department of Music.
